E-licensing platform implementation: Remove bottlenecks that are hindering the ease of doing business in Mauritius
Business facilitation was one of the ten key strategies that I had defined in my Budget speech in 2016.
The project is financed by the EU (€ 10 million) and the 1st phase of the platform will be completed in August 2019. 245 licences/permits/clearances have been identified in 16 Ministries.
The objective of this project is:
– To review and simplify the licensing framework and limit the number of licenses;
– To review the legislative and regulatory frameworks;
– To create a common e-licensing platform for the application, renewal and cancellation of licences; and
– To enhance capacity of regulators by providing technical training to relevant users in public sector agencies.
