Certificates Awarded to participants of training programme on Protocol
Some 40 participants from different Ministries/Departments who attended a three and a half day training programme on Protocol, were awarded certificates this morning in presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Etienne Sinatambou.
In his address at the Fooks House, Port Louis, Minister Sinatambou highlighted the importance of such training as there is a keenness amidst civil servants to attain high standards in the delivery of service. He added that although there is an overwhelming majority of civil servants who delivers, training is still an important tool as it is a capacity building process in delivering better services.
The training programme which emphasised on understanding the foundations and principles of protocol was organised by the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Reforms in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade
The topics covered during the training were: explaining the importance of national symbols; and understanding protocol observations when hosting conferences, seminars and VIPs, amongst others. The Chief of Protocol and Senior Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade were the resource persons for the training.
